February 23, 2022

Purdue University Northwest’s (PNW) inaugural Black Excellence Brunch was featured in The Times of Northwest Indiana and Post-Tribune newspapers.

The brunch, part of PNW’s Black History Month celebration, was a specially catered brunch for the university’s Black students, faculty, staff, and esteemed allies.

William Godwin, 1st District Councilperson for the City of Gary and President of the Gary Common Council, delivered the keynote address. Godwin emphasized that “Black Excellence” means a commitment by all to lift the talents and voices of others to continue overcoming the repeated struggles people of color face in the U.S.
