Introduction

Joining PNW’s College of Business from Houston, Texas, Anh Thu Mai teaches Financial Management. She aspires to mentor motivated students in their lifelong pursuit of knowledge and success in professional and academic careers.

Research Overview

Mai’s current research provides an understanding of how trading activity in option markets affects option prices, and the role of demand and supply in explaining trading activity and prices. Other fields of research include asset pricing, derivatives, and financial intermediation.

I traveled across the globe to discover my love for crawfish, experience the thrill of a random visit to a Muay Thai dojo and become the first in my family to obtain a doctorate degree. I fight my temptation to stay in my comfort zone daily to achieve what I did not know was once possible; you should, too!

Advice to PNW Students…

  1. Get used to being out of your comfort zone. You can only learn so much if you stick to what you already know.
  2. Get to know your professors, your friends and your colleagues better. They can make a difference in your life and you in theirs.
  3. Be kind to everyone, and be persistent with your goal. A good attitude makes a difference.
