Introduction
Joseph T. Cochran is a Visiting Instructor of History. He teaches survey and upper-level courses in Global, European and American history.
Research Overview
Cochran’s monograph, Jonathan Edwards and Hebrews (Vandenhoeck and Ruprecht, 2025), is an intellectual history of how the early American pastor and philosopher, Jonathan Edwards, interpreted and applied the Epistle to the Hebrews to his ministerial context and for his wider global influence. Cochran is currently writing a brand history of evangelicals, tentatively title Brand Evangelicals (Brazos Press, 2027), which conveys the story of their social, cultural and political influence from the late 1930s to today.
