Why Visit PTAC?
A consultation with PNW’s Psychological Testing and Assessment Clinic may be helpful for individuals with questions or concerns about their mental health, learning, attention, memory or cognitive functioning.
PTAC May Help You Evaluate…
- Persistent worry, sadness, mood changes or other emotional concerns
- Learning difficulties or challenges with academic performance
- Attention, memory, executive functioning or other cognitive difficulties that interfere with daily life
- Questions about how a medical or neurological condition, such as traumatic brain injury or multiple sclerosis, may be affecting cognitive functioning
- Changes in memory, thinking or everyday functioning among older adults
Although PTAC does not provide therapy or counseling, an evaluation can help clarify diagnoses, identify strengths and areas of difficulty and provide individualized recommendations that may be useful in educational, occupational or treatment settings.
Serving Students and the Community
We are committed to providing high-quality, accessible psychological assessment services to PNW and the surrounding community.
- PNW students receive psychological evaluation services at no cost.
- Community members are eligible for a sliding fee scale based on household income.
PTAC is also a graduate training clinic. Evaluations are conducted by clinical psychology graduate students under the supervision of licensed psychologists. This model allows clients to receive comprehensive assessment services while supporting the development of future psychologists.

PTAC Location and Scheduling
Services are provided in person at the Purdue University Northwest Hammond Campus. We offer flexible scheduling whenever possible to accommodate clients’ availability and graduate trainees’ schedules.
Clinic Hours
- Mondays: 9 a.m. to Noon
- Tuesdays: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Thursdays: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
