Responding in Strength to Unprecedented Events

Dear Purdue University Northwest Community,
I hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe as many in our region respond to major challenges stemming from severe weather events.
The PNW Senior Leadership team is working together with staff to assess daily university conditions and take steps to resume normal operations at both campus locations. The PNW Hammond campus is under normal operations, as of Monday, August 17. We will provide more details regarding PNW Westville campus operations as they become available.
Campus community members are encouraged to visit pnw.edu/alerts for all daily information updates on emergency notifications and plans. Updated information about Housing move-in and New Student Orientation will be included at that site.
For PNW faculty and staff, information regarding payroll status and expectations for both campuses will be shared soon from PNW Human Resources.
I am touched by the many ways PNW community members have helped one another, their neighbors and our area in overcoming recent unprecedented severe weather events. You represent the absolute best of what the Purdue University Northwest community stands for. Your many examples of resilience amid these hardships, and your continued commitment to our students, are inspiring and commendable.
I deeply appreciate your collective efforts to serve our students as we welcome many back to PNW starting this week. I look forward to seeing many of you on Friday at the Year Ahead address.
Sincerely,
Kenneth C. Holford, Ph.D.
Chancellor
