Education Technology
PNW offers instructors innovative learning technology to enhance, engage, manage and foster student learning.
Technology is most effective when it supports sound teaching—not the other way around. At the Center for Faculty Excellence, we approach educational technology through a pedagogical lens, helping instructors thoughtfully integrate digital tools that enhance engagement, improve accessibility, streamline course management and support student success.
Whether you’re exploring a new platform or refining your current teaching practices, our goal is to help you choose the right technology for the right instructional purpose.
The technology listing below consists of tools available to Purdue University Northwest.

Intentional Tech Integration
Tip #1: Start with Learning
Choose technology that supports your learning objectives—not simply because it’s new or available. When instructional goals drive your technology choices, students stay focused on learning rather than the tool itself.
Let’s Try it: Pick one learning activity and imagine your “dream version” of how students could engage with it. Then explore whether a technology tool can help bring that experience to life.
Tip #2: Keep it Simple
Use only the tools that add clear value to the learning experience. A streamlined set of technologies reduces cognitive load, minimizes confusion and helps students engage more confidently with course content.
Let’s Try it: Challenge yourself to explore one new feature in a tool you already use. You might discover a simple way to make your course more interactive, organized or engaging.
Tip #3: Make It Accessible
Build accessibility into your course from the start, not as an afterthought. Selecting inclusive technologies and designing accessible materials ensures more students can fully participate and succeed.
Let’s Try It: Pick one piece of course content and give it an accessibility makeover—add captions, improve headings, check color contrast or update an image description. Small changes can make a big difference.
