What is the best piece of advice you would like to give PNW students?

“Try to enjoy the experience as a whole, as college years will be truly memorable. Never forget that hard work pays off. Do your best to stay on top of your projects and academics, improve your communication skills and work on your networking skills.”

Why did you get into your field of study?

“My favorite aspect of Human-Robot Interaction is that it is a highly multidisciplinary field at the intersection of mechanical, electrical and computer engineering, as well as physical therapy, human biomechanics and kinesiology. Through advances in rehabilitation engineering, we can improve the quality and accessibility of patient care and leverage technology to facilitate therapy with robots.”

What is your proudest accomplishment?

“By the age of thirty, I had achieved my longstanding goal of becoming a faculty member in academia.”
