Center for Faculty Excellence New Faculty Member Spotlight: Meet Lily Morgan

Purdue University Northwest’s Center for Faculty Excellence is pleased to introduce several new faculty members who have joined the university during the 2025-26 academic year.
Get to know more about Lily Morgan, assistant professor of practice, reference librarian and nursing specialist!
What are you most excited about in your first year?
“I am most excited about getting to know the nursing students and faculty, helping them with their research and learning how I can enhance academic experiences at PNW. As part of that process, I’m looking forward to developing engaging and impactful online learning tools to benefit both our online and on-campus students.”
What is the best piece of advice you would like to give to PNW students?
“Don’t let research assignments scare or frustrate you. Start your assignment by asking a librarian for help. Helping students is what we do best, and we can make the research process more interesting and much less stressful for you!”
What is your favorite quote?
“Keep your eye on the donut, not the hole” – David Lynch
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
“I would tell my younger self to focus less on getting straight As and more on learning, critical thinking and making the most of my college experience. I was a huge procrastinator, and as a result I didn’t retain much from my undergraduate classes. For me, learning requires time to reflect, and I didn’t allow myself that time.
In terms of general life advice, I would tell myself to start going to therapy and putting money in savings.”
