Info Session on 2/15 for Teacher Funding Opportunity!
A virtual info session will be held Tuesday, February 15 at 3:30pm about an NSF-sponsored funding opportunity for High School STEM teachers. A $6,150 stipend is available for teachers to participate in a 6-week "Research Experiences for Teachers" program at Purdue Northwest's Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS).

$7 million DOE Grant for “Integrated Virtual Blast Furnace for Real-time Energy Efficiency Improvement”
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy announced that PNW Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium housed at CIVS was selected for developing a next- generation Integrated Virtual Blast Furnace for real-time energy efficiency improvement.

The series is titled "Advanced Visualization Technology Used in Manufacturing", and will cover how Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and 360-degree Videos are being utilized to advance manufacturing industries. Training, maintenance, and process improvements can all benefit from these tools.
