Application Fee Scholarship

Our program recognizes the wide diversity of people who wish to pursue a Master of Science in Couple & Family Therapy. We also recognize that often, hopeful applicants will submit applications to many quality programs in hopes of being accepted. As a social-justice informed and focused program, our goal is to work on breaking down barriers that have historically existed to stop many people from being able to pursue their dreams. One way we are able to do this is to offer an Application Fee Scholarship – generously provided by sponsorship from the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences – and charitable donors who want to see others succeed.

At this time, for the fall 2024 admissions cycle, we are able to offer a total of 10 Application Fee Waiver Scholarships.

Eligibility

Anyone is eligible to apply – however the goal of this scholarship is to support any person who may belong to a historically oppressed or marginalized group or set of characteristics/identities. This includes many people – if not most! However, those who are first generation college students, financially in need, have or exist in a disabled context, are racially or ethnically marginalized, members of the LGBQ+ community, and those people who are gender expansive are particularly encouraged to apply.

To be eligible, the application for admission must be complete with no missing information by the deadline. Additionally, the MS in Couple & Family Therapy must be the candidate’s first choice for graduate study at Purdue University.

Selection Criteria

Those selected for the scholarship will be awarded a $60 fee waiver scholarship, which will be applied directly to their account on their behalf. Successful applicants will NOT receive direct compensation or reimbursement for fees associated with their application to the program. In order to be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements listed above, and have the PNW MS in Couple & Family Therapy as their first choice graduate program for admissions.

The MS in CFT Graduate Program Admissions Committee will review applications and decide who will be awarded the scholarship each year from the applicants. The timeline is listed below, and, at any time you may reach out to the program by email with any questions you may have.
