Engaged in Engineering: Fall 2020 Grad Anthony Laas

December 16, 2020

Anthony Lass, a tenacious Purdue Northwest graduate, earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology in December 2020. When considering all the options for his educational journey, Lass says, “I’ve always liked to design and build solutions to different problems.”

I chose to attend Purdue Northwest because I wanted to be an engineer. For me, PNW was the best school to attend for engineering,” remarks this Lake Station, Ind. resident.

While at PNW, Laas felt comfortable in the campus community. He was greatly impacted by various faculty in the College of Technology. He states, “All of my professors at PNW have inspired and encouraged me because of their amazing knowledge in engineering.”

One of Laas’ most memorable opportunities occurred within his last year as a student. “A pivotal experience for me at PNW was working on my senior project. I learned a lot from the project and feel very accomplished with my results,” adds this determined PNW alumnus who plans to begin employment as an engineer for ArcelorMittal. He adds, “I would like to see where this career will take me. My long-term career goals consist of me owning my own business.”

Reflecting on his collegiate memories, Laas shares words of wisdom for those considering an education at Purdue Northwest: “PNW is a great school to attend. Do the work to become successful and you’ll never regret it. Time flies by faster than you think, and before you know it, you will be starting a great career.”
