The Roundtable Perspective: Indiana Jones and the Reality of Archaeology

As Harrison Ford prepares to don the hat for one last Indiana Jones film, James Osborne, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of Chicago’s Oriental Institute, joins host Thomas J. Roach, Ph.D. to discuss Chicago’s connection to “Indiana Jones”, who may have actually inspired the character and the real research that archaeologists do. This episode recently won a 2021 Communicator Award of distinction in the Video-Talk Show/Interview category.

Episodes air Friday at 8:30 p.m. and replay Sunday at 10 a.m. each week.
