The Affordable Connectivity Program for Home Networks

Person typing at computer with graph displayed at deskThe Affordable Connectivity Program provides eligible households with up to a $30 discount off their monthly internet bill or a $75/month discount on Tribal lands. It also provides one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet purchased through a participating provider when the
eligible household contributes at least $10 but less than $50 toward the purchase.

If you’ve received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year, participate in a number of assistance programs (such as SNAP, Veteran’s Pension, Free/Reduced-Price School Lunch, or SSI), participate in Tribal specific programs (such as Tribal TANF or Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance), or meet other eligibility criteria for existing low-income internet programs, you may be eligible for this program!

Enroll in 2 steps

  1. Go to affordableconnectivity.gov to submit an application or print a mail-in application.
  2. Contact your preferred participating provider to select an eligible plan and have the discount applied to your bill.

Camtasia
From narrating PowerPoint slides to creating in-video quizzes that integrate with Brightspace, you can use this computer-screen recording and video-editing software to create high-quality videos.

Computer Lab Reservation
This allows students to reserve a time in that computer lab to ensure that there is a computer available, preventing the need to wander through campus looking for an open seat!

E-mail Distribution Lists

This set of cloud-based applications found within your PNW Google account can store files and media, provide collaborative opportunities, support video conferencing and sync across devices.

Kaltura
Available to faculty and students, this platform offers easy, adaptable video recording in classroom or on personal devices.

Microsoft Office 365 (OneDrive, OneNote, Word, PowerPoint)
Office 365 is an online cloud-based platform that uses your @purdue.edu email to store files and media, provide collaborative opportunities and sync across devices.

MyPNW
MyPNW allows you to pay your bills, register for classes and find key forms and links all in one place.

Office of Instructional Technology
We provide faculty, staff, and students the resources necessary to use technology as a tool to achieve their educational and operational goals.

Printing
Students, faculty and staff all have a set budget each semester for printing documents on campus.

PNW Mobile App
The PNW mobile app is available on Android phones and tablets, iPhone/iPad and desktop devices. It is free to use and available for download now.

Purdue Login
A two-factor authentication system, Purdue Login significantly improves the security of protected computer systems and accounts by requiring two forms of verification before access is granted.

Respondus LockDown Browser & Monitor (Students)
LockDown Browser prevents navigating outside a Brightspace test to search the web, print, copy, or access any other applications during the testing time. The LockDown Monitor, is a camera tool that will record your testing session to flag unusual activity typically associated with cheating.

Sharepoint
SharePoint is a web-based collaboration platform from Microsoft that incorporates document management, sharing, editing and workflow as well as functions for wikis, blogs, personalization and more.

Storage (Google Drive, H:, R:)
Students, faculty and staff have remote/networked options for storing and accessing files.

Technology for Student Success

VPN
Creating a virtual private network (VPN) lets a user “put” their home machine on the PNW network, allowing access to many of the same resources as your work or lab machine on campus.

WiFi
We offer Wifi service across PNW’s campuses, including Eduroam, our log-in wifi service for students, faculty and staff, and a guest AT&T WiFi.

Zoom
Zoom provides remote conferencing services that combines video conferencing, online meetings, chat, and mobile collaboration.
