Strategic Plan: Excellence Evolving (2025-2030)

After a robust year-long planning process that engaged hundreds of university stakeholders, this summer we began implementing the new PNW Strategic Plan, Excellence Evolving: 2025-2030, setting the course for the university over the next five years.

As we implement the strategic plan, we’re looking for you to help bring this vision to life with a creative competition to help in create a logo representing the university’s values: Respect, Innovation, Student Centric and Excellence (RISE)


RISE Logo Competition Rules and Guidelines

Eligibility and Deadline

  • Open to all current students, faculty and staff of Purdue University Northwest.
  • Only one design may be submitted per individual.
  • Entries must be submitted by Monday, Nov. 17, 2025 through the competition form.

What to Submit

  • The graphic should include a reference to the acronym RISE and reinforce the values (Respect, Innovation, Student Centric, and Excellence) as identified through the process of developing the 2025 PNW strategic plan.
  • Each submission must include a brief explanation sharing the concept behind the design (50-100 words).

Design Guidelines

  • All logo designs must be original and created by the participant. The use of pre-made templates, stock imagery, AI-generated art, or elements from online software like Canva, Freepik or Adobe Stock are prohibited.
  • The design should be versatile and scalable for use in both digital and print formats.
  • All designs must meet PNW brand guidelines, which can be found at pnw.edu/brand.
  • Submissions must be provided in high-resolution (300 dpi) and provided as an image (PNG, JPEG). Additional file formats may be requested of the winning design.
  • The design must be provided in full color and should also work in grayscale.

Selecting the Winner

  • The winning design will be selected by Strategic Implementation and Action Committee in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team by December 10, 2025. The winner of the contest will receive an iPad.
  • The university reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet the criteria or contains inappropriate content.
  • By entering, participants agree that the university owns all rights to the winning design.

Logo Usage

  • The university reserves the right to modify the winning design, as necessary.
  • The winning design will be featured on the PNW website and  included on various promotional giveaways, such as t-shirts, stickers and displays.
