Professional head shot of David Taylor

Dear Colleagues:

I am delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the search for the Teddy Jacobi Dean of the College of Business. Please join me in welcoming Dr. David Taylor to this role, effective July 1, 2026.

With his extensive experience as both an academic and a leader, Dr. Taylor is well-positioned to strengthen the college’s reputation regionally and nationally, enhance its programmatic offerings and research profile, and advance our shared commitment to improving the quality of life and place for our students—many of whom are first-generation, adult learners and other non-traditional students—as well as for their families, communities, and our faculty and staff.  His leadership comes at a pivotal time as we implement Purdue Northwest’s strategic plan, Excellence Evolving: PNW 2025-2030, which calls for each college to align its goals with the university-wide vision.

Dr. Taylor currently serves as Dean of the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology at Sacred Heart University, where he is also a Professor of Marketing.  He previously held leadership roles at that institution as Associate Dean, Director of SHU Luxembourg, and Chair of the Department of Marketing, among other roles.  His impressive work experience, which also includes industry experience, is detailed in the attached CV.

Among his many academic administrative accomplishments are:

  • Overseeing a 12% increase in undergraduate enrollment between 2022 and 2024
  • Securing ABET accreditation for Computer and Electrical Engineering programs
  • Increasing undergraduate retention rates by five percentage points over a two-year period
  • Elevating the college for inclusion in “Top Ranked” undergraduate business programs by U.S. News & World Report
  • Leading course and curricular development/revisions, including a new MS in Business Analytics & Applied AI program
  • Developing an undergraduate semester abroad program in Luxembourg.

Dr. Taylor earned his Ph.D. degree in marketing and MBA degree with a marketing concentration from the University of North Texas.  His undergraduate degrees include a Bachelor of Business Administration from LeTourneau University and Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Texas at Tyler.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Kwangsoo Park for his excellent service as the interim COB Dean during the past several months; we are pleased he will continue serving in this role through June. I also want to thank the search committee, chaired by Dean José Sánchez, for its dedication and hard work through this process.

Sincerely,

Marie Mora
