Waubonsee Community College (WCC) to PNW Admission Requirements:

A.D. in Nursing to Online RN-BSN Program

  • Minimum 2.3 GPA
  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nursing License

Perks for Pathway Students:

  • PNW Application fee is waived for eligible pathway students
  • Students can apply to PNW in their third semester and take their first BSN course while completing their last semester at WCC
  • Eligible pathway students receive a $1,000 scholarship towards their tuition at PNW

Note: Students can complete up to 86 credit hours at WCC by taking additional electives reducing the PNW electives.

  • Nursing Credit Surplus: The state of Indiana requires 30 credits in lower-level nursing to be licensed. WCC Associate in Applied Science requires 40 credits in nursing. Indiana State Board of Nursing Requirement 848IAC 1-2-17 states Math and/or Sciences may be integrated into nursing courses – therefore lower division nursing credit, when applicable may be applied to Math/Science/Pharmacology Requirement.
  • Free Electives: This requirement can be any course that is college level in any subject. Nursing credit surplus may be used here if applicable. Students transferring from WCC may take these courses are WCC or PNW.
  • Social Science/Humanities Electives: This requirement can be any college level course within the humanities or social sciences. Courses may include the following, but are not limited to: psychology, sociology, anthropology, history, political science, music, art, theater, philosophy, foreign languages, literature, communication, economics, social work and linguistics. Students transferring from WCC may take these courses at WCC or PNW.
