College of Business Dean Search Update
Dear Colleagues:
I am excited to announce we have officially launched the national search for the next Teddy Jacobi Dean of the College of Business at Purdue University Northwest! The position description, along with instructions on how to apply, can be found at this link.
As part of the process, we have brought together an excellent group of faculty and staff to serve on the College of Business Dean Search Committee, chaired by College of Engineering and Sciences Dean José Sánchez. The search committee members are listed at the end of this message; we greatly appreciate their service.
This important advisory committee will play a critical role in helping us identify the next COB leader. When selecting the members, we wanted to ensure that each department/school had representation while also considering other dimensions (e.g., having different faculty ranks, including a Department Chair, etc.). In addition, we invited the Faculty Senate to select its own representative, which they have (thank you, Dr. Claudia Mich!). Academic Search is assisting us in this search.
In terms of the timeline, the deadline for full consideration for applicants is October 20. We anticipate the committee will virtually conduct its first round of interviews with approximately 8 to 10 candidates shortly thereafter.
With the timing of the Thanksgiving Holiday, it is likely the finalists’ campus interviews will occur in early December; there will be opportunities at that time for members across the university community to meet the candidates and provide feedback and input.
Ideally, the new Dean will be named by early January, with an anticipated start date sometime in Spring 2026. We will keep you posted as the process continues to move forward.
In the meantime, the College of Business is under the leadership of Dr. Kwangsoo Park as the interim Dean. Until this interim role, Dr. Park has been serving as Associate Dean and Director of the White Lodging School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. We appreciate his willingness to serve in this interim capacity until the permanent Teddy Jacobi Dean is selected through this national search process.
