Lunch and Lead: Innovation at School City of Hobart

Join us at this month’s Lunch and Lead session!

Hear from Peggy Buffington, Ph.D. Superintendent for the School City of Hobart, who led the district in the opening of the Early Learning Center, which she describes as “the best place on earth” that paved the way for full-day kindergarten available to all students as well as pre-school and Building Brickies (birth to 5 programming).

Peggy currently serves as co-chair of Ready NWI, the education arm of the One Region, One Vision leadership team to improve the quality of life in Northwest Indiana.

About Guest Speaker

Peggy BuffingtonPeggy Buffington provides leadership in the district’s curriculum and instructional program. Peggy serves as the facilitator of “research based” interventions/strategies to improve learning. Buffington is passionate about early education, literacy, STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, Mathematics), and college and career readiness.

She is engaged in organizing, analyzing, and interpreting school improvement data. She provides professional development programming and sponsors continuing education for educator license renewal. Peggy led the Hobart High School building project, renovation of Hobart Middle School, and the building of Veterans Elementary, as well as leads the district-wide technology program.

Presented by the Leadership Institute and Society of Innovators at PNW, Lunch and Lead is a free virtual speaker series designed to help community and business leaders develop knowledge and skills while raising awareness of best practices from other leaders across Northwest Indiana and beyond.
