Much Accomplished, and Much to Look Forward To

Dear Colleagues,
The end of the spring semester is always a special time for our university community. As we prepare to celebrate our 2025 candidates for graduation, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on all of the hard work we have collectively accomplished.
I thank the Purdue University Northwest (PNW) community for your persistence in making our institution a remarkable academic home and resource for our students and community members, now and into the future.
I am especially proud of the collaborative process throughout the academic year among students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members that shaped our new strategic plan, Excellence Evolving: 2025-2030. This plan will serve as a road map for our institutional priorities and articulates our bold vision to cultivate leaders, inspire excellence and impact our world.
Importantly, our mission emphasizes that our students are at the heart of all we do at PNW. Our values demonstrate what is most important to us as a university community and reflect our commitment to Respect, Innovation, a Student Centric university, and Excellence (RISE), which guide us toward an evolving and bright future.
Several of our recent and ongoing accomplishments closely relate to our path forward. Construction is underway on our third student housing facility, Calumet Hall, which will provide increased opportunities for on-campus residential living and learning experiences.
The planned Roberts Impact Lab, as the centerpiece of downtown Hammond’s innovation district, will concentrate on facilitating quantum commercialization, connecting research with industry and expanding workforce training and education.
Our institution once again received immensely generous support from donors on PNW Day of Giving, raising nearly $2 million for our university. The incredible philanthropy advanced by our alumni, friends of the university, and PNW faculty and staff members demonstrates how changing students’ lives starts with us. I cannot overstate the pride I feel for our PNW community members’ devotion to making an impactful difference for our students’ success.
There is much to anticipate in the new academic year as our community charts its next path forward. I hope the summer months will offer you opportunities to refresh and prepare for fall semester. Please continue to share with others the many great things occurring at PNW. I look forward to continuing to work together during this exciting time.
Sincerely,
Kenneth C. Holford, Ph.D.
