CIVS Showcases Crane Simulator at U.S. Steel Family Day

U.S. Steel Gary Works invited CIVS to their Family Day on August 16 to demonstrate the steel consortium’s latest developments. Rohit Kumar Reddy Kovvuri (CIVS Research Engineer) and Mario Herrera-Ortega (CIVS Post-Doc Research Associate) showcased the crane simulator. U.S. Steel family members learned about crane controls and got to operate a virtual overhead crane.

The event was attended by hundreds of family members. Attendees toured the mill and enjoyed food and activities on site. U.S. Steel is a member company of the SMSVC.
