U. S. Steel’s SVP – Sustainability & CTO and Leadership Have Successful Visit to CIVS

group photoIn October, U. S. Steel SVP – Sustainability and CTO Christian Gianni and other U. S. Steel leaders visited CIVS to review and discuss ongoing and future potential projects through the CIVS and SMSVC. Discussions included long-term blast furnace research and new initiatives such as IVBF, casting-rate sensing, AI & CFD-based Reduced Order Model (ROM), AI hot-metal Si prediction, as well as digital twins. The visit also included demos in the Visualization lab and hands-on experience on virtual training simulators such as Crane Training Simulator. Visitors included Christian Gianni, SVP, Sustainability & CTO, Eric Lindborg, VP Process Innovation, Jason Entwistle, Director Project Management Office and David Bormet, Director Product Quality Development, and Bill Schlichting, Director Enterprise Process Innovation.
