The group discussed a variety of topics with CIVS researchers and had hands-on demonstrations of the crane simulator, VR fire extinguisher, and VR flood simulator. Visits like these can help students see how simulation and visualization are used in real-world scenarios. Hands-on experience can spark interest, build understanding, and inspire to explore new ideas. Their faculty advisor, Prof. Rami Maximus Salahieh, was a previous teacher involved in the National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experience for Teachers (RET) program held at CIVS in previous summers.
