CIVS Students Win Virtual Senior Design Day

Congratulations to CIVS Senior Design Students and their mentors!  In spite of unprecedented challenges the likes of which none of us has experienced in our lives, our senior design students have achieved excellent outcomes. Special kudos go to the winning teams of the first-ever Virtual Senior Design Day competition organized by the School of Engineering. The CIVS winning teams were:

• First Place: Siyu Zhao & Hangbing Lin: Design and Optimization for Free-Burning Arc in the EAF (Advisor: Dr. Chenn Zhou. Mentor: Yuchao Chen
• Second Place: Wenjie Yu & Zihan Zhou: Design of an Adjustable Nailboard to Measure Surface Velocity in a Steel Continuous Caster (Advisor: Dr. Chenn Zhou. Mentor: Haibo Ma & John Resa)
