NiSource Vice President Visit

Kelly Carmichael, Vice President of Federal Government Affairs, Environmental, and Sustainability at NiSource visited CIVS on July 8 to discuss ongoing projects, the Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium, and future collaborations.

During the visit, CIVS Director Chenn Zhou, Research Associate Professor Armin Silaen, Senior Research Engineer Nick Walla, and Senior Research Engineer Kyle Toth showcased CIVS projects and applications in iron and steelmaking (e.g., simulation and analysis of blast furnaces, reheating furnaces, and more) and demonstrated AR and VR technologies. Afterward, the CIVS team and Mr. Carmichael had an additional discussion on future research work with NiSource.
