Safety instructors from U.S. Steel Gary Works visited CIVS on November 22,2021 to record audio for mobile equipment safety training simulators. CIVS researcher, Jack Moreland warmly welcomed them and showed them the recent project progress and the future plan.

The safety training simulators use 360-degree videos to capture the inspection process used by mobile equipment operators. Simulator prototypes have been created through the Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium (SMSVC) and this visit focused on testing and improving audio quality for the instructor-led guidance portion of the simulator.
