Advising
Academic advising is a collaborative process where you and your advisors are partners in ensuring your academic success.
Our Advisors
All new undergraduate students must attend New Student Orientation, where the freshman advisor will explain the procedure for registration and the student will register for classes.
Transfer students also will have to see the freshman advisor for an initial evaluation of their transcripts and may be directed to a faculty advisor.
New graduate students will be assigned a faculty advisor based on research or study interests indicated in the applicant’s statement of purpose.
Our advisors will assist you in exploring educational and career objectives and relevant opportunities. They strive to help students:
- clarify their life and career goals,
- assess individual academic abilities,
- develop suitable educational plans,
- select appropriate courses and complementary educational experiences,
- interpret institutional requirements,
- enhance their awareness of available educational resources (such as internship opportunities, honors, and tutoring programs),
- evaluate their progress toward established goals,
- assist them in completing degree requirements in a timely manner,
- seek out and use support services in the institution and the community.
Internships
An internship is a great way to gain hands-on experience–it can be a first step to finding that perfect job! We recommend registering with PNW’s Career Center to be informed when employers post their internship and position openings.

Student Clubs

The IEEE club provides members with a wide range of information pertaining to the fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Purdue NW Baja Racing
Purdue NW Baja Racing is about more than engineering and manufacturing. It’s an adventure for all PNW students. A cross-functional team of students gets together to lead, plan and implement solutions to problems that face the selected project.
SWE (Society of Women Engineers)
We inform young women, their parents, counselors and the general public about the qualifications and achievements of women in engineering and the opportunities available to them.
Engineering Scholarships
PNW offers a variety of scholarships to recognize achievement and provide financial assistance.
