Whereas, Section III.C.8 of the Constitution of the Purdue University Northwest Faculty Senate provides the Senate with an advisory role on “policies affecting the general welfare, privileges, tenure and responsibilities of The Purdue University Northwest faculty, standards for appointment, and procedures for academic promotion of members of the faculty”; and

Whereas, the faculty of PNW are desirous of providing more specific information to faculty regarding the documentation of teaching excellence; and

Whereas, the faculty have had no opportunity for input into the recent document on teaching portfolios being disseminated by the various College deans; and

Whereas, some of the provisions of the aforementioned teaching portfolio document appear to disadvantage some faculty; therefore, be it

Resolved, that the PNW Faculty Senate requests that before implementation of the teaching portfolio document adequate time be provided for faculty input into the document and the processes it encompasses.
