Resolution on Approval of PNW Honor Code and Honor Pledge

PURDUE UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST FACULTY SENATE

Resolution to approve the Purdue University Northwest Honor Code and Honor Pledge as drafted by the Student Government Association (SGA) and reviewed by Faculty Senate in March 2025.

Whereas, academic integrity is a cornerstone of a thriving academic community and is essential to the mission of Purdue University Northwest;

Whereas, the PNW Student Government Association (SGA) has drafted a comprehensive Honor Code and Honor Pledge, reflecting the values and expectations of the student body regarding academic conduct;

Whereas, the draft Honor Code and Honor Pledge were submitted to and reviewed by the Faculty Senate Student Affairs Committee in March 2025, receiving feedback and support from the Committee;

Whereas, the Honor Code and Honor Pledge are intended to promote shared responsibility among students, faculty, and administration in upholding the standards of academic integrity;

Be it resolved that the Faculty Senate of PNW hereby formally approve and adopt the Honor Code and Honor Pledge as drafted by the SGA;

Be it further resolved that the Student Affairs committee will charge the Academic Integrity taskforce to communicate the Honor Code and Honor Pledge across all academic units, including student programs/courses, faculty resources and other University materials to build and reinforce a culture of academic integrity on campus.
