FSD 25-02 General Education Course Removal
FSD 25-02 General Education Course Removal
PURDUE UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST FACULTY SENATE
Proposed: Removal of the listed General Education courses
Submitted By: General Education and Assessment Committee
For Discussion: October 10, 2025
PNW General Education Course Removal
Rationale: The PNW Faculty Senate General Education and Assessment Committee recommends that the following courses be removed from the current General Education course list because 1) they do not align with general education learning outcomes in a particular category, or 2) they are no longer, or too infrequently, offered. General Education courses should be accessible to students and therefore taught regularly. The Committee recommends that some existing courses have been moved to more appropriate categories (see new list). These recommendations are based on general education best practices, state of Indiana learning outcomes, discussions with faculty and Department Chairs, and Institutional Research findings.
