PNW Outstanding Faculty Scholarship Award
Award: $1,000
I. Outstanding Award Eligibility Requirements
- The nominee must be tenured or tenure-track faculty or clinical professional
- The nominee must have had an average teaching FTE of at least 50 at Purdue University Northwest for the 6 semesters prior to nomination.
- The nominee must be willing to have his/her name placed in
II . Nomination Letter and Documents of Support (these should be sent to the Chair of the Scholarship Award Review Committee).
- A statement from the nominator indicating why the nominee warrants the award. If you are self-nominated, include a statement of rationales for self-nomination.
III. Nomination Package
The nomination package shall consist of a brief of not more than two pages prepared by each nominee with appropriate appendices attached.
A. Structure of the Two-Page Brief
- Name of the nominee, rank, and departmental affiliation
- Statement from the nominator indicating why the nominee warrants the If self-nominated, include a statement of rationales for self-nomination.
- Information relevant to the impact and significance of the scholarly activities of the

- Outside evaluators/clients

IV. Appendices
It is recommended that the following applicable materials be appended to the brief.
- The title, journal information, and link to refereed articles accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Please do NOT include copies of all of your published papers.
- The title and conference information for refereed papers and/or presentations at professional or instructional
- Summary of grants and funded
- Books which contribute to the literature and body of knowledge in the
- Service as editor of a
- Edited
- Service as editorial consultant or as a referee for submissions/abstracts for
- Service on an editorial advisory board or an editorial
- Invited lectures and workshops and conferences at other
- Publications in proceedings of conference presentations
- Published reviews of books, scholarly works and textbooks, especially if such reviews are published in journals.
- Software published, patented, or sold to
- Patents and
- Invited chapters written for
- Non-refereed articles in publications related to the faculty member’s area of professional or teaching expertise and invited articles for publication in trade
- Involvement in graduate and undergraduate student research with the goal of publishing that research.
- Paid and non-paid consulting experiences that are relevant to the faculty member’s area of professional expertise.
- Awards for scholarly
- Other relevant examples of creative and/or scholarly activity.
