University Campus Police are under the direction Director of Public Safety Brian Miller.

Full Police Powers

Under Indiana Law, University Police Officers possess full police powers including the power of arrest under IC 21-39-4 on all property owned or occupied by the University. On the Hammond Campus, the department also has a written mutual aid agreement with the City of Hammond Police, although primary jurisdictional areas are routinely respected.

Effective August 1, 2022, the hours of operation for Westville Police will be Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., official holidays included.  Police officers will not be assigned when the campus is closed overnight or on weekends when no classes or events are scheduled.

Please note that PNW police officers will be on patrol duty at the Westville campus when students are in class and whenever campus or outside community events are being hosted on-site, including athletic events.
