Admission Deadlines, Eligibility Criteria, and Immigration Information

Partner institutions should contact the Director of International Programs and Partnerships to confirm exchange spot availability ahead of nomination deadlines.

Period of study:	A student may apply for: fall semester (August – December) spring semester (January – May) fall & spring semesters (academic year) Exchange spots for summer term may be available depending upon the signed exchange agreement on file.
Nomination Deadlines:	Fall Semester/Academic Year: May 1 Spring Semester: October 15
Student Application Deadlines:	Fall Semester/Academic Year: June 1 Spring Semester: November 15
Eligibility Criteria:	Good academic standing Evidence of English-Language Proficiency (see below)
Required Documents:	The Director of International Admissions will email the online application link to the nominated students and their home coordinator. Please do not mail any admission documents prior to receiving this email. Online Application Official Transcripts in English* Official English Test Score* Passport Copy Course Request Form Visa Questionnaire Financial Sponsorship Document *If the home institution provides the transcript and English test score instead of the student then PNW will accept an unofficial copy.
Immigration Information:	Exchange students must have a form DS2019 to apply for the appropriate visa to enter the United States. To receive the DS2019 form, accepted students will: Complete the PNW application process and provide the admission letter Provide proof of financial support documents from your bank in English demonstrating proof of sufficient funds to pay the full costs of the program of study Provide an up-to-date copy of your current and valid passport information page Provide current mailing address, e-mail, and phone number Additional costs associated with the immigration process to plan for include: Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee for making U.S. Embassy appointment to apply for the J1 visa: $220 Visa appointment fee paid to U.S. Embassy where student has the visa appointment. The cost differs between countries; consult the U.S. Embassy in the country where you will apply for your visa It is an immigration requirement for students to provide proof of medical insurance. The minimum coverage is shown below. The typical cost for one of the insurance providers our students have used is approximately $40 USD a month for a student aged 25 years or younger.
Insurance Requirements:	Students are required to provide proof of medical insurance that meets the following minimum coverage: medical benefits of at least $100,000 per person per accident or illness; repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000 expenses associated with medical evaluation in the amount of $50,000 is offered by an insurance company based or with offices in the United States International Student Insurance is one company of which PNW is aware of that meets these minimum requirements.

English Language Test Score Requirements

Exchange students should submit documentation from one of the following tests showing the below minimum scores or higher. Note: some programs may require higher scores.

Tuition and Other Expenses

Tuition and Fees (single semester):

Exchange Students: tuition waived as part of exchange balance
Visiting/Fee-Paying Students:
- ELP & ELP Pathway: US $7,100*
- Undergraduate & Graduate: consult PNW tuition and fees page

Estimated Other Expenses (books, health insurance – single semester):

$2,750

Required Proof of Financial Sponsorship Amount (single semester):

ELP & ELP Pathway: US $13,600
Undergraduate: US $17,580
Graduate: US $14,754

For academic year students, double these amounts.

Accommodation

Campus housing is normally available for international students and students will apply through the PNW student portal once they are admitted to the university. The approximate cost of room and board is USD $5,500 per semester. There is also a $200 deposit and $20 application fee paid via the student portal.

Immunization Requirements:	Students are required to have certain immunizations if they live on campus. Please refer to PNW’s Housing page for more information.
Ordering PNW Transcripts:	Official transcripts may be ordered online via the Registrar’s website. If the student is no longer a current PNW student, please note that they will have to click on the link to register for a new account.
