CIVS Hosted SDI Managers for CIVS & SMSVC Projects

On June 12, Conrad Fisher (Melting Manager) and Eric Murray (Safety Coordinator) from Steel Dynamics (SDI) had a productive visit to CIVS.

Kyle Toth (CIVS Sr. Research Engineer) and Rohit Kovvuri (CIVS Research Engineer) reviewed SMSVC projects in safety and workforce development, including the AI Safety Chatbot for safety reporting, as well as CIVS & SDI collaborative projects such as AI Hazard Recognition, Manufacturing Pod and VR Hazard Recognition Training. The future potential projects were also discussed.

The group also participated in hands-on demonstrations in the visualization lab, including the crane training simulators and the AIST Steel Wheel. Steel Dynamics is a charter member of SMSVC.
