Labs/Facilities

Dedicated technology labs provide application-oriented learning experiences with “real-world equipment,” making graduates career-ready and attractive to prospective employers.

By partnering with industry, the technology laboratories are maintained at state-of-the-art levels.  The following is a list of laboratory and computing facilities and the associated tools and equipment that support instruction in the Computer Information Technology and Graphics Department:

This is a teaching laboratory. Lectures and hands-on experiments covering the topics of computer graphics, sketching, and multimedia production and editing take place in this facility. There are 32 Windows 64-bit workstations in this lab. Software installed in this lab includes:

  • 3D CAD, Rendering and Animation: 3DS Max, Maya, Mudbox, Inventor.
  • Graphic Design: Adobe Creative Cloud 2017,GIMP, Axure.
  • Game Design: Unity, Unreal Engine.
  • Programming: Notepad ++, Python, Java Development Kit, Eclipse Oxygen.
  • Computer Forensics: FTK Forensics, Elastic Search.
  • Network Utilities: Wireshark, Putty, Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Server Applications: SQL Server Express, SQL Management Studio, XAMPP.
  • Simulation/Machine Learning: MATLAB, Praat, Weka. The lab is also equipped for scanning media and outputting tabloid size color prints.

This is a fully configured Cyber-security research & training laboratory with 15 workstations. This lab is configured with the most current industry standard programming and database tools available. Software installed in this lab includes:

  • Information Technology: MS Office, MS Visual Studio, MS Visio, MS Project, VMWare Workstation.
  • Programming: Notepad ++, Python, Java Development Kit, Eclipse Oxygen.
  • Computer Forensics: FTK Forensics, Elastic Search.
  • Network Utilities: Wireshark, Putty, Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Server Applications: SQL Server Express, SQL Management Studio, XAMPP.
  • Simulation/Machine Learning: MATLAB, Praat, Weka.

The Computer Graphics Lab is a hands-on laboratory used to teach page layout, web design and 3D modeling and animation. The lab is equipped with 25 Windows workstations containing the latest version of industry standard software. Software installed in this lab includes:

This is a fully configured teaching laboratory with 28 workstations. This lab offers hands-on training covering the topics of Computer Forensics and System Assurance. The lab provides the opportunity to configure routers, investigate security breaches and configure network system security. Software installed in this lab includes:

  • Graphic Design: Adobe Creative Cloud, GIMP, Axure.
  • Programming: Notepad ++, Python, Java Development Kit, Eclipse Oxygen.
  • Computer Forensics: FTK Forensics, Elastic Search.
  • Network Utilities: Wireshark, Putty, Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Server Applications: SQL Server Express, SQL Management Studio, XAMPP.
  • Simulation/Machine Learning: MATLAB, Praat, Weka.

This is a fully configured teaching laboratory with 30 student computers. The lab is equipped with Windows 64-bit workstations supporting virtual machines and containing the latest version of industry standard software for application development, web and mobile application development, database design and implementation, networking technologies, operating systems, and computer security and information assurance. Software installed includes:

  • Information Technology: MS Office, MS Visual Studio, MS Visio, MS Project, VMWare Workstation.
  • Programming: Notepad ++, Python, Java Development Kit.
  • Computer Forensics: FTK Forensics, Elastic Search.
