Graduate Conference Presentation Grant

The Graduate Studies Office sponsors a limited number of Graduate Conference Presentation Grants to support graduate students who have been accepted to present papers, posters, or other scholarly presentations at conferences.

These grants are typically provided as matching funds in partnership with the student’s home department. Awarded funds are provided to the student’s home department to support approved conference-related expenses. If you receive a grant, you will work with your home department and Purdue Travel, as appropriate, to coordinate travel arrangements and the use of awarded funds.

How to Apply

Please use the link below to apply for the Graduate Conference Presentation Grant. The application will take you to a Qualtrics form where you will submit the required information and supporting documentation for consideration.

Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Grant awards are subject to available funding and applicable budgetary limitations. Depending on available funds and the amount requested, an application may be approved for full or partial funding.

Eligibility

All currently enrolled graduate students in good academic standing at Purdue University Northwest are eligible to apply for the Graduate Conference Presentation Grant.

Students may receive funding for a maximum of:

  • Two conference presentation requests per academic year, if they are enrolled in a thesis-based or doctoral-level program; or
  • One conference presentation request per academic year, if they are enrolled in a non-thesis or non-doctoral level program.

Students who have been awarded a Conference Presentation Grant in the current academic year may receive lower priority for additional funding.

Please note: Applicants who have been awarded the Graduate Research Award, or the John Tuckey Award for the current academic year are ineligible for the Graduate Conference Presentation Grant.

Information Required for Your Application

You will need to provide the following information and documentation:

  • Student information, including your PUID number and home department.
  • Faculty sponsor information, including your faculty sponsor’s name, email address, and department.
  • Presentation information, including the title and general information about your presentation.

Guide: Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

New and continuing students who wish to receive consideration for financial aid (federal, state and some institutional aid) must complete the FAFSA every year. Prior to completing your FAFSA, you will need a Federal Student Aid ID (username and password) which will serve as your electronic signature. If you are a dependent student for financial aid purposes (most students under age 24) your parent(s) will also need an FSA ID.

Please contact the Financial Aid team at (219) 989-2301 or finaid@pnw.edu with any questions.
