Kinesiology Concentration Overview

At Purdue University Northwest, our kinesiology concentration will help you turn your passion for movement into a meaningful career. You’ll learn how to improve people’s health, fitness and performance—whether through exercise, rehabilitation or wellness programs.

Part of PNW’s integrative human health degree program, our kinesiology concentration prepares you for professional certifications, such as those from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and gives you a strong foundation for careers in fitness or for continuing your education in graduate or professional programs.

Department of Biological Sciences

Students with a Kinesiology Concentration pursue careers such as strength and conditioning, coaching, physical and health education and development and marketing of medical, fitness and sports-related equipment.

Many students continue onto graduate and professional programs including athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, clinical exercise physiology and sports and exercise psychology.
