A Message from the Provost for PNW International Students

July 10, 2020

Purdue University Northwest cares deeply about the well-being of our international students as they are an important part of our broader university community.

We will be closely monitoring changes in national policy, but have already taken steps to ensure that we can provide a safe educational experience for everyone.

PNW has, for example, recently announced expanded instructional formats (e.g. face-to-face, hybrid, virtual classroom, and online), which will also put us in a strong position to work with our international students on fall schedules.

We believe that these efforts will allow us to continue meeting their educational needs in a safe environment, while at the same time eliminate disruption to their academic progress.

Sincerely,

Chris Holford
Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs

Information for International Graduate Students

International graduate students (transfer or new) should contact grad@pnw.edu or call 219-989-2257 for more information and assistance.

While a few graduate programs at PNW have fixed admission deadlines, many of the programs are more flexible. The preferred deadline of May 15 is suggested to allow time to get your visa approved.

While that deadline has passed for 2020, applications for international graduate students can still be processed; however, if you are requesting first-time visa approval, you may not receive it before the start of fall classes if you apply after the preferred deadline.

If you are already in the United States, you may apply until August 15 (approximately one week before the start of classes) for most programs. Please contact us for more information about your specific situation and program of interest.
