Undergraduate Cybersecurity Certificate Program Overview

Learn fundamentals of cybersecurity with this undergraduate-level certificate at Purdue University Northwest. Our program takes three semesters and is great for people who work or are studying another field. You will learn the basics of cybersecurity and how to analyze, control and check computer security.

Available in Evening Classes at PNW’s Westville Branch Campus

Department of Computer Information Technology and Graphics

After completing this certificate, students will be able to:

  1. setup and manage computer systems (especially windows servers)
  2. design, implement, setup and manage networked computer systems
  3. be proficient with cybersecurity fundamentals
  4. identify security threats and system vulnerabilities
  5. evaluate the cybersecurity of a target computer and a networked computer
    systems.
  6. be proficient with cryptography technologies
  7. apply cryptography technologies and other security controls for security protections

Undergraduate Cybersecurity Certificate Program Overview

This 12-credit certificate program consists of four courses:

  • ITS13500 – Operating Systems Technologies
  • ITS17000 – Networking Technologies
  • ITS25000 – Fundamentals Of Information Assurance
  • ITS35000 – Fundamentals Of Cryptography

This program can be completed in three semesters. It is available in evening classes at PNW’s Westville Branch Campus. Each course can be applied toward PNW’s bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity.
