Arrival to Campus and Airport Pick-Up

PNW will be offering free airport pick-up service from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) or Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) on Aug. 16 and Aug. 17, 2022.

Pre-registration is required. If you are interested, please email ambassadors@pnw.edu.

PNW will not offer a pick-up service outside of these dates.

If you will not arrive during these dates, PNW cannot offer a free pick-up service. However, many community members reported a positive experience with the transportation services listed below.

Express Air Coach offers bus service from Chicago O’Hare to Hammond. Reserve a ticket and find the schedule at   https://expressaircoach.com/ If you use this service, make sure you get off in Hammond, as the bus also goes to the main campus in West Lafayette.  Once in Hammond, you can take a taxi.  The stop in Hammond is not in walking distance of our campus.

Mandatory Check-In and New International Student Orientation

New International Student Orientation: Aug. 18, 2022, 1 to 4 p.m.

One of the first things for you to do once you arrive in the US is report to the Office of Immigration Services in Lawshe Hall 226 for immigration check-in (SEVIS).

Please bring the following:

  • Your passport, with the appropriate student/scholar visa
  • Your Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 or DS-2019)
  • Any other immigration-related documents that you have obtained, such as from the Customs and Border Patrol Agents or any previous schools you may have attended

Health Insurance

All international undergraduate and graduate students who are registered, regardless of credit hours, or in an approved professional certificate program must enroll in the mandatory university health insurance plan unless you meet the criteria for a waiver.
