PNW’s Center for Healthy Living offers students convenient, on-campus care when they need it most. Treatment for common illnesses, primary care and wellness visits, condition management, lab work and are all available by booking a visit.

Students at PNW have access to a variety of academic resources such as free tutoring and supplemental instruction as well as access to our Writing and Testing Services

If your student is at risk of failing a class and wants to avoid it affecting their GPA, they will need to drop their class before the drop deadline.

Our free Counseling Center on the Hammond campus is available to support your student during difficult. All enrolled students have access to personal counseling and psychological assessment and testing, either in person or virtually.

If your student is in crisis and needs immediate assistance, the Counseling Center is available during business hours. Have them call (219)989-2366 to inform the center they are in crisis and on their way, then go to the office.

PNW’s nationally recognized graduate studies offer a wide range of academic programs to help advance your student’s skill set and future. Undergraduate students with 90 credits or more are also eligible to pursue a 4+1 program at PNW, allowing them to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in five years for select paths of study.

On-campus academic and general employment opportunities are available for current PNW students.

If your student needs assistance finding a position for post-graduation, the Career Center offers a range of services and resources to help them secure a role.

All freshman applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships when they apply to PNW. Students can also apply for scholarships they are matched with through Scholarship Universe. Another way to reduce the amount your student needs to pay upfront is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which provides access to federal, state and college aid in the form of grants, loans and work-study funds.

Every PNW student is paired with a dedicated member of the financial aid team who can help them explore their options. Students can find their assigned advisor by visiting the financial aid section of their myPNW portal.

To discover additional scholarship opportunities, encourage your student to log in to Scholarship Universe using their PNW credentials.

After answering a few brief questions, your student will be matched with scholarships they may qualify for and can apply directly through the platform.

Exploring Scholarship Universe regularly is a great way to help maximize your student’s funding opportunities!


Frequently Asked Questions

To view your student’s grades and other academic information, your student must grant you proxy access. Once your student grants access through the myPNW portal, you must set up an account using the email notifications sent to you to view the Please be aware that your student can revoke your proxy access at any time.

If this will be your student’s first semester at PNW, they will need to complete the Pre-Advising Form and schedule classes during their advising appointment when each becomes available.

If you have a returning student, they can schedule an appointment with their advisor for assistance with class registration, or they may register on their own through the scheduling assistant. Your student can access their plan of study and track their progress toward their degree through the myPNWplan widget in their myPNW portal.

If your student wants to change their major, they should begin by meeting with their academic adviser to review the new major’s admission requirements. If eligible, the adviser will initiate the Change of Degree Objective (CODO) process; no forms are

If your student wants to see how changing majors would affect their degree plan and graduation date, they can use the “What If” feature in their myPNWplan.

All students are paired with an academic advisor based on their major when they first join the Advisors are available to help students stay on track to their goals and graduation and understand their options. To meet with their advisor, your student should schedule a meeting.

Dropping or withdrawing from individual classes means your student is removing course(s) from their schedule. Dropping a class occurs earlier in the semester, before the drop deadline, and does not appear on your student’s transcript or affect their GPA. Students may also receive a full or partial tuition refund if they drop before the refund deadline. Withdrawing from a class occurs later in the semester and results in a “W” on your student’s transcript. Tuition is not refunded for withdrawn

To view your student’s bill, you must first be set up as an authorized user. Once access is established, you can view bills and make payments by logging in from a smartphone or computer.

International payments can be made in the currency of your choice through Flywire or CIBC, or with international credit cards through Touchnet Paypath, which includes a 4.25% convenience fee.
